Experience
To earn the Certified Residential Specialist (CRS) designation, every REALTOR® must have significant experience with a considerable volume of real estate transactions or gross sales, and must also complete rigorous educational requirements. Ethics
Every CRS Designee is required to maintain membership in the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS® and to abide by its strict Code of Ethics.

- CRS Designees earn an average of $155,876 annually, which is 27 percent higher than in 2001, and nearly four times as much as the $39,300 that the average REALTOR® who sells real estate earns.
- CRS Designees complete an average of 70 transactions per year, which is 36 percent higher than in 2001, with higher than in 2001, with average gross sales of $6.8 million annually. This compares to REALTOR® who work as sales agents who complete an average of 10 transactions annually with the average gross sales of between $1 to 1.5 million per year.
- Less than 3.75 percent of all licensed REALTORS® are Certified Residential Specialists.
